[Obtaining the Peak of Perfection]——danxia Fengshui culture
The name of “leaping dragon valley” originates from a northwest trending deep-cutting gorge in the distance, which is surrounded by dense forest and looks like a leaping dragon. To the north of this valley, the huge mountain peak is known as “Zhuangyuan Rock” (Zhuangyuan literally means “the number one scholar of the imperial exam”), where was the secluded study place of Zou Yinglong who later achieved the top scholar in the imperial exam and became a great official. It is said that Zou used to study at this place when he was young. On the surface of the danxia cliff, there is a vertical rock groove, which is formed by water erosion. Since the shape of this vertical groove resembles a dragon flying to the sky from the valley bottom, it is named as “Flying Dragon Cliff”.
